Here you can find some examples of my work and the progression of my photography
Photography 1st field test
Before heading to America in the summer of 2024, I wanted to do at least one field test to practice photography.
I set out and captured around 100 photos, experimenting with a variety of subjects. While I wasn’t initially satisfied with the results, once I brought the images into Lightroom, I realized how much editing can enhance a photo. Having prior experience with Lightroom, the editing process felt natural.
How to take pictures of yourself 101
When I arrived in America I was experiencing major jet lag and woke up on the first day at 3 AM. I decided to go outside and take some pictures of myself while no one was out. This was the first time ever trying to take pictures of myself with my new tripod.
The first 5 pictures had a very bad composition because I did not place myself on the right spot for the photo. Later on I developed a very good feel for placing myself in photos
These photos were taken on the first day. You can see that my positioning isn’t good at all. (RAW)
These photos were taken later in the trip. The one on the right was taken 2 weeks after the first day. A lot of improvement. (RAW)
from Good to Great
Editing a photo makes the result so much better. Even very simple photo with little editing can look so much better. During the trip I mostly edited photos while moving from A to B. I also worked on photos late at night.
When I saw the photo on the left I was disappointed but worked on a edited version anyway. The end result was super awesome. Looks like a movie poster.
"I am street photographer"
Sometimes I took photo opportunities of random people on the street. This gave me the chance to promote my photography Instagram. Because approaching people on the street in a foreign country is always fun!
The Instagram I promoted was made to dump all of my photos on since my personal account wasn’t well suited for all the photos I posted almost every single day. This account also allowed me to stay in touch of with photographer I’d meet while out on the trip
